Do you mean the standard bags or the new "Bag for life" and similar bags that are a big more durable? All the supermarkets near me still give out the old style free bags despite saying they were going to be phased out completely once they run out.0

Our Asda withdrew the free bags for a week or so but it wasn't very popular and they're available again now - they don't offer them if you've brought your own bags, but other than that you can have as many as you need.0

a few weeks ago the co-op were hiding the bags they only had the ones you buy on show and you had to ask for the free ones if you wanted them.0

I spent over £12.00 in Quailty Save and although they had the free bags under the till they wouldnt let me have one and tried to sell me a 6p one, I had to juggle my items back to the car!0

I think they should charge for bags and not give in just because of a few moaners. I think the government will probably end up making it illegal to give out free bags; they threatened to before but said they would rather the supermarkets do it voluntarily, but it doesn't seem to be working too well.0
