yea im sure you can, i claim for my son , does your partner get high rate mobility then you might beable to a blue badge or get a car on mobillity scheme that will pay for both of you to be insured, me and my freind are on mine hth take care
  • Hi there,

You can apply to be your partners carer as he gets the appropriate DLA. You havent said what other income you have and without this I am unable to tell you how this would affect you financially.

    :D

Tell me some more and I will see what I can advise.

You don't say which DLA component he gets the high rate for. In order for you to claim carers allowance your partner would have to be getting middle or high rate care component, if he gets high rate mobility but low rate or no care then you won't be able to claim carers allowance.

You can't claim carers allowance if you're a full-time student or if you earn more than £95 a week. There's more details here:

Yes then you will be able to claim carers allowance for him. If you are married you will also get the dependant adult allowance which is an extra £30ish per week on top of the carers allowance. It might affect the rate of incapacity benefit though.
I used to suffer from lack of motivation.... now I just can't be arsed.
