I have just been reading your lovely thread and noticed that all most everyone is checking their online banking. This may be a really silly question, but why? Is it because if you get paid out from ms or quidco ect it can be transfered straight out and on to CC's?Total debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳
😁Debt Free and you can do it too0 -

Hi ROTE,
I check mine because I have quite a few accounts that I need to keep an eye on and I do like to check off DDs etc as they go out. I also spotted some fraudulent activity a while back and was able to alert the bank straight away. It also helps you to keep on the straight and narrow if you are about to go overdrawn etc.
I think one of the other reasons is that many of us have buried our heads in the sand over our debt at some point. I need to know where I am financially to be able to stay in control and become debt free.

Hi Roomontheend
I like to keep an eye on any spending by DH![joint account] helps to keep on top of any nasty surprises. Also check that everything has been paid out /in as planned
Also keep an eye on QUIDCO /paypal etc for any money in or out so that I can move it into an interest earning account if necessary0 -

I check mine every day just to check everything's going in and out as planned1 I move Tax Credits to a different account when they arrive, move Paypal/Amazon money to savings. I check my Direct Debit accountto make sure it's got enough in to cover rent/dds.
I just like to check my accounts as this is the first time in years that I knowwhat's in the bank - I like to know now exactly what's there and how much I have available to spend. Also I get quite excited when I have money left over at the end of a week and I transfer it to my savings account:rotfl: (Yes I know I need to get out more;) )I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

I check my bank everyday - sometimes more than once - lol- cos the bank lies the whole time - when you look at it and it says one thing it probably means something else - so I check it and keep track of things I have switched etc. Like someone else - I had dodgy transactions on a cc early last year so now I check the whole time.
And if you are always looking at it - you (as someone else mentioned) can get a feel of what in each account and exactly when things are getting taken off and then if anything unexpected happens - like my TV licence DD :mad: and you go over your o/d limit - as long as you put the extra money is in the same day - you won't get charged.
And apart from that its a money free thing to add to the list to make you feel more in control

Agree with that. I also have a few accounts I move money between so I know where I can find it when I need it , they don't have a lot in but I know that by putting it aside I can pay for, eg, DS's school trip next month.
I also love seeing C beside some accounts instead of D !Getting there...slowly!
GC : must do better
NSD: very rare
No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.0
