Hopefully someone will know this. I want to be able to connect to the internet using free wifi connections but I need a device that is as small as possible and also not too expensive. Im going travelling and want to be able to online chat with my family whilst I am away. cheers

How do you define "not too expensive"?
I would get an iPod Touch (starting at £150 on Amazon), as it has the best mobile browser bar none, and thousands of applications for it.0 -
ooh. Thanks for that. Im just going to have a look. I need to travel light and dont want to take a laptop. Just want something I can shove in my handbag that I can get connected to free wifi in cafes etc. Im off on a visit to the States so I wonder if it would work?Matched betting proceeds so far: £505.000

I've got a netbook I use for remote working. There's a few like EEE or acer one aspire (the one I have). You'll probably be able to get a used one or bottom spec one for around £150. Try amazon. My acer is the size of a hardback and is as light as a small bag of sugar!0

Thanks for that. The Ipod touch looks ideal but I can imagine its quite a faff to type text. cheersMatched betting proceeds so far: £505.000 -

That's my main issue with the touch. Great for checking emails but not so great for typing or more involved web sites. Depends what you need I guess. My acer has a 95% full keyboard.0 -
Im coming to the end of my mobile phone contract so have been looking at phones that come with a free ipod touch.Matched betting proceeds so far: £505.000

You get used to it. It has an on screen keyboard and a spell checker that automatically corrects mistyped words. If you want something that'll fit in your pocket, it's as good as it gets.
I'm sure you have a store nearby that has one out on display; go and have a play with it.Im coming to the end of my mobile phone contract so have been looking at phones that come with a free ipod touch.
Why not just get an iPhone?0 -
Can you connect to free wifi hotspots with that though? Im also wondering if it will work in the states
Yes, it has wifi just like the iPod Touch. It also has 3G mobile internet.
As far as the phone bit goes, how it works and the amount you'll be charged for using it in the States depends on the calling plan you're on with O2.0
