Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. Oooh thanks. I also thought that the cash and carry wouldnt be open to the public.
Would I be right in thinking that one would be bigger too, aswell as presumably better for us to get to for just popping in and out instead of finding car park etc as only want the one shop
What is this lakeland store?0 -
http://www.lakeland.co.uk/ every cooks dream store.
I find the george street one better for parking, both are around the same size .Stock the same really.I think the stowell street one sells more bulk boxes.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth

hmmmm interestin'....might have to take a butchers at that lakeland...but then prob not good for my wallet either

If stowell street is better for the bulk boxes then might have to visit that one then I think, well depends what bulk is....but I know the main things I'm after and have seen on other websites are 1 or 2 x 5litre tubs of distilled vinegar, 3kg packets of cornflour and bicarbs, and hopefully some citric acid too if they do that stuff...then I can let the other half go riot on making fizz bombs etc

There's a good one on Victoria Road in Middlesbrough called Kashmir International Food Stores. Sells Indian, Chinese etc and has a great range at cheap prices.0

If you're going into Lakeland it's best to have someone very strict & disciplined with you to rein you in when you're spending too much. It really is a cooks delight. Some things can be expensive but the quality is good and customer service second to non, they have a no-quibble refund policy so if you buy something and aren't happy with it they'll give you your money back.Midnight_Tboy wrote: »hmmmm interestin'....might have to take a butchers at that lakeland...but then prob not good for my wallet either
If you want an idea of their best buys have a look at the huge Lakeland thread:

The Lakeland store is in Eldon Gardens.
