Hi, i was wondering what budget airlines people would recommend? (ryanair, easy jet, bmi baby etc) Ive used ryanair once, even though im sure its not, i didnt feel all that safe flying with them and felt a bit claustraphobic. Are all budget airlines pretty much like this?

I've flown with flybe a few times (BHX - Brest). They are excellent. Always on time and decent staff / aircraft0

In all honesty though the planes Flybe use are snidey things and not for someone who is claustrophobic.
Id say Easy jet are the better of a bad bunch.0 -
Ryanair actually have more larger aircraft than the others, perhaps if you sat towards the back at the aisle seat you would feel less claustrophobic.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I fly Monarch to Alicante. Same prices as Ryanair but so much better.0

I have flown with Ryanair lots of times, and would recommend them.
Only flown Easyjet once, they were ok but not really that cheap.0 -
Ryanair is not bad. easyJet are good but have smaller planes than RA so perhaps not best for the claustrophobic. The best by a long long way is Wizzair: they may not have the same coverage as the big boys but for the routes they do they win hands down. The staff are polite and friendly and (most importantly!) willing to leave you alone if you don't want to buy anything, and they use brand new A320s which are clean, light, and very comfortable to fly on.0

I fly often to and from Prague. I always enjoy my flights most with BMI baby but pay more with them, having seats allocated really reduces everyone's stress levels. I only book Ryanair if theres a silly price, which is quite often, it's impossible to complain about the service you're getting when you only paid 1p.0

Ryanair use the 737-800 which is a bit longer than the 737-700 and 737-300 easyjet use. Easyjet also use the Airbus A319 which again is just a shorter version of the A320.
All low cost airlines will have a small seat pitch (distance between seats) and fly mostly full all the time. This is where you will be getting the claustrophobia from.
They all have short airport turn around times and seem to be always in a hurry (because they are!) but the flight crew are as safe as any airlines, although low cost airlines do tend to work their crews right up to the legal duty hours limit all of the time.0
