I used hips4u too and I was really pleased. Great customer service and took less than 2 weeks to complete :)

pinky has the HIP been seen by a buyer's solicitor yet? did they think it was OK?

I need to find someone to do a HIP myself. Cheers.

I used hips4u, it was a leasehold property, and there were no mistakes at all. My sale completed without any issues with the HIP being mentioned at all.

Anyone with some common sense can spot any glaring errors in their own HIP themselves, and you can ask your solicitor to check it if you're worried about anything.

david - what type of mistakes have you seen in leasehold HIPS? Mine just had info like freeholder details, lease length, copy of the lease, copy of the land reg docs etc. The level of detail it had, I would have known if anything was incorrect as I still had all the docs from when I bought the place.

£350 is loads for a HIP!

£250 is a reasonable price, its how much my solicitiors charge.

The problem with using an estate agent to do your HIP is that your normally tied in with them so if you have a falling out you'll have loads of hassle with trying to get a HIP.

I guess I'm biased but get one done with a solicitor
