Please help. I have a couple visiting and doing research in the UK for 6 months. However I unable to find a company/broadband service without a 12 months contract. If anyone do know of any, please help, they are living in the Edinburgh area.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Have a look a Zen Internet. They charge £50 for a new signup. They are free if you migrate to them from another service.
Thay offer one month contracts. No penalty to leave after you join. They are about the best ISP in the UK at the moment (and have been for quite a while). If you want unlimited, unrestricted access, then look at this company.
Have a look at the comparison guide for different service providers on adslguide (about the best site for independent advice for broadband in the uk). You can select up to 6 ISPs for comparison (select Zen against any other company). Zen have not been beaten by ANY company in any category for far more than the last six months this gives the score for.

Hi
f2s, one monthly contract
Hope this helps0 -
IDNet offer 1 month contracts also.
I can recommend them, and also have great CS.0 -
There are no broadband provides that don't charge at least £50 if you leave before 12 months. I tried to find one but had absolutely no luck.
Although from what I have heard, if you get Telewest for 6 months then tell them you are moving (give them a non Telewest serviced address) then they don't charge to cancel your service.0 -
freedom2surf is currently doing a Spring Sale where you can sign-up without 12 months contract and leave after 3 months without paying any activation fees.
Best deal around since Virgin stopped their loophole last June.
Product MonthlyCost Activation Fee Download Speed Capacity
Connect Home £19.99 Free* up to 8Mbit 10GB
Connect Plus £24.99 Free* up to 8Mbit Uncapped
*Activation price waived subject to the service being retained against the same uninterrupted and unchanged BT Line Rental Contract for a minimum of 3 months otherwise standard activation fee of £49.99 is due.0 -

Freedom2surf have had a LOT of problems recently with their network. If anyone considers this ISP, they should check around the net for views of the service. There are a lot of unhappy customers with this company at the moment.
Have a look HERE at the F2S forum on adslguide. It is used by lots of their customers, and will give an idea of the current problems. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?
