Another PS3 user with Playstation Network problems?

Any ideas what's wrong?

I've been able to connect wirelessly to set up my Playstation account and have downloaded the necessary software.

I've still not been able to sign into the Playstation Home site. I just keep getting error messages!

I've been on the Playstation website and have worked my way through the troubleshooting suggestions! I'm stumped!!!

If you havnt already ~ you need to set to open certain ports for the PS3 to work properly

    ~

    Playstation Network Required Ports

    TCP 80
    TCP 443
    TCP 5223
    UDP 3478
    UDP 3479

This is something I do to my router??

I've logged into it and the check-box is already ticked for 'Turn UPnp On'

    How do I open 'ports'?

dont bother with setting a static IP for your computer, just set a static IP address for your PS3

I've followed the link and have a list of make and model numbers to select from.

    I've gotta choose between v1.03.18 or v1.03.30

I logged into mine and its v1.03.36....which shall I pick??

Sorry to be so thick....I'm just a Mum...and if it's not in the instruction booklet, then I'm b8gg8red!!!

the guide that i posted should work with any netgear router (not just the dg834pn)

i don't get asked for a firmware version when i click that link i posted, however just use the .30 one as its closest to .36
