Toucan problem: Get me out :-(

Hi,
I recently got the 2MB toucan broadband connection. The day after it started the speeds were very slow and lousy customer service. So I called them to cancel the contract. The customer service said that I couldnot cancel the order as it was more then 7 days from order whereas I recieved the modem and went live only for 2 days.
Is this a fair trial?
I have threatend them with going to Trading Std but they are not bothered and wont cancel the contract.
Is there any way out?

Not a good move in my opinion, not highly rated, and again you get what you pay for, just look at Tiscali, cheap but nasty, unreliable, customer service totally crap.
El Mag, Go to the website and read their Terms & Conditions, this is what it says
A3. Your right to cancel
A3.1 If you are purchasing the ToucanTalk Service as a consumer, you may cancel your order for the ToucanTalk Service under this Agreement within 13 working days from the date of Acceptance in accordance with clause A3.2 below (“Cooling Off Period”).
A3.2 You may cancel your order during the Cooling Off Period by informing our customer services department by phone, fax, email or post (please see the ToucanTalk User Guide for details or visit our Website).
A3.3 If you have used the ToucanTalk Service during the Cooling Off Period you may still cancel the ToucanTalk Service but you must pay for any Charges you have incurred up to the effective date of cancellation.
Hope this helps0 -
