My OH is due to sign on next week after being made redundant, I don't work, but looking for P/T work (care for Mother P/T so can't claim carer's)and I don't want to sign on. If he get's JSA contribution will we be entitled to ctc or do you only get it on JSA income based, also we have just under £16000 in saving's will we be able to claim Council Tax benefit.

you should be able to claim CTC regardless of wether your husband claims ccontribution based or income based JSA. IF you aren't working and you have children he could claim income based JSA for you both, there will be a capital tarriff deducted from the couple rate for savings over £6k up to £16k. I'm afraid i can't help you with the query on council tax benefit.0

Council Tax Benefit is reduced pro-rata if you have savings between £6k and £16K, so it doesn't look as though you will get much. Over £16k you are not entitled to it at all.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
