    thanks op
just the free one for me too as i would forget to cancel
wonder how much the phone call was lol

0845 numbers are charged at local rate, so a couple of pence only (I know this as we pay for an 0845 number for our customers, for our small business, which means they pay very little, and we pick up the tab for the rest). 0845 numbers are not evil!!

If you think you may forget, why not pop a note in your diary/calendar on the wall, or sign up as a birthday (Cancel Marie Claire birthday lol) on one of those free birthday email reminder service things online.
MrsV05 - don't panic, they only take the £1 about 10 days before sending you next months copy, and then they won't take the £16 until the last copy has been sent (so in three months time) - basically though, you can cancel the DD as soon as the £1 has come out of your account which would probably be around March 25th ish, and then they *can't* take the reoccuring sub (£16 -odd) - I've just done this with BBC Good Food and Olive, and we've done it previously with Grand Designs magazine, easy as pie.
Do not feed the trolls please.
  • I did this last year (the 3 for £1) and must have struck lucky with the months as there was a free gift every time.can't remember what though! I think they hope people will take the offer then forget to cancel DD. I put reminder in my diary.

Hi just rang up for mine, and it's a new issue you'll receive not the one that's out now.

I went for the 3 issues for £1, they said that as long as you cancel before the 4th issue you will have nothing else to pay :T

    Thanks OP

I always used to worry about forgetting to cancel the DD but with my online banking I always check the transactions. As soon as i am billed the £1 I cancel straight away. Havent forgot one yet.

Thanks for this, got the 4 issues for £1, have done these before as have aslways remembered to cancel so far!!!
  • You don't need to wait for the 3rd issue (to cancel before the 4th). Just cancel as soon as you receive the first copy. You will still get the remaining three. That is what I tend to do as I always lose track of how many I have actually had.

Don't forget Quidco and the Magazine Group for great offers. I had 6 months of Glamour magazine for 20p.
