Is £496 for one months gas too high?

I'm wondering what the general consensus is. This is our bill from January from EDF for just Gas. There are two adults and two kids in a two bedroom house. We have gas ch but not for cooking. However we only ran it for 4 hours a day during all of January. We've spoken to them and checked our meter is cubic meters, they…

Get them to check that they are using the correct formula to calculate the bill, for several years we paid large bills becuase they used imperial formula to calculate readings from our new metric meter - we challenged it once and were told we were high rate users, this went on for years, and eventually they owed us thousands.
