How to take DFW forward?

The suggestion of a sub-board for diaries has popped up (again).
Here: Proposed Forum Changes...
I can't say I am 100% convinced that moving diaries off the main board is the way to go, but it's not my call and I am prone to 'fence sit' anyway.
So I was wondering what people think of a few other options that spring to mind?
This is not to replace the feedback on the above thread. Please comment there as well since the site team are keeping an eye on that one.
However here we can comment on just DFW.
So.........................
EDIT: You can select more than one option.

I've posted on the other thread, but I am happy to say here that I do not wish for the diaries to be on a sub-board.......not now, not ever!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I agree with Hypno.
The diaries are a part of what DFW is all about & can really really help to motivate people.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. I think a DMP subforum would be very useful, but I don't want to see a diaries sub board. As many initial cries for help become diaries as help and support is offered, I think it would confuse newbies about where to initially post.0

From the outside looking in...
shift the challenges and chat to the sub board and leave the diaries, which is contrary to what I've said in the past but the challenges are overwhelming the board now0 -
Whilst the diaries are a great motivation for some, I think it's a good idea moving them to a sub forum, this is one of the fastest moving boards on here, threads quickly get buried, it's difficult locating a thread, and for anyone “viewing” it must also be difficult to find an answer to their specific situation.Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

That is sorta what I was getting at. Moving the diaries isn't the ONLY option to make the board more accessible.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I would agree with others that the diaries should stay.
Not opposed so much to a challenge sub board though.DFW Nerd #11520 -
This is one of those proposals where the failure has to be experienced before people will finally give up on the idea.

Hmmm - I have a slightly different take on challenges.
I probably now mainly come on for the challenge threads, but then I also try to offer people help and advice as I see posts pop up. If the challenges were in a sub-board then I wouldn't see so many of the other posts. Challenges are also where lots of people are doing some genuinely amazing work and I think they can be as inspirational as the diaries (which I confess I rarely read) and are really accessible to newbies to help them start to chip away at their debts. BUT all that I have just written can be reversed to be pro diaries for people that like diaries more.
I m going to sit on the fence because I can't think of what the solution should be so I guess I err on the side of leave it alone and then we will all be equally frustrated but we don't segregate the forum and risk newbies posts going unread.
