We are not having a great experience with this company either. Claim being handled by Direct Group.
Two of my children broke their arms whilst we were skiing in Czech republic and required immediate attention.
They are taking off 10% as we did not inform them before commencing treatment - not easy or an option with displaced broken bones. First cheques they sent were only for one bill each - the cheapest. Now we have more cheques after complaining but are still about £300 short. They use their own exchange rate which is way lower than the exchange rate on the credit cards (nationwide and tesco).
I'll check later to see if ours says AXA or Fortis. We will not be renewing with them and still have to claim for the transportation down the mountain which they will not pay direct, we have to pay and claim.
Nationwide were brilliant and repaid the over limit fee on our credit card when I explained that it was unexpected medical expenses.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
