I have been with them for 2 years and never had any issues! Always credit my account when they owe me money and have been great to deal with thru online or on phone

Sometimes people are unlucky, sometimes they just don't like what they are told.

I've switched several times, manage accounts online and have never had any problems with any of them.

But funnily enough didn't you put someone off Utility Warehouse the other day on account of there being negative comments from customers? Not having a go, btw. Fact is, EVERY energy company will get it's negative comments, it's par for the course, people are much more motivated to report bad service as they are to report good. It's akin to asking a mechanic who works for a main dealer if he would recommend their cars - his stock answer may be no as he gets loads in for mechanical repairs. :D

Yeah, they aren't that bad, but be wary of their prices and quotes as they can be misleading (my major irk with them) otherwise the service is ok.

    Let me explain:

My irk comes from the fact that if you are on an IGT for your gas, this doesn't come up in any price comparisons or quotes they generate. I've ended up paying twice the standing charge that was displayed in my online quote simply because my estate is supplied by an IGT and they don't cater for this on their website despite the fact from my postcode they should know this! The only reason I haven't kicked up a fuss is I am still saving money, although I believe it is a blatant case of mis-selling. I wonder how many others are affected and don't know this or haven't double checked when the confirmation letter comes through the door?

So its worth checking. Also their standard tariffs are affected- you may end up paying up to 1p per kwh extra on top of the standard tariff that is displayed on their website if you are on an IGT. Doesn't sound much does it? But 5000 kwh = £50 and I'd rather have that in my back pocket ta very much.

I'm sure there are energy suppliers who don't charge extra for IGTs. If that is the case, wouldn't they offer a cheaper alternative to npower?

Have been on a few price comparison sites and Npower still come out the cheapest, even with the extra standing charge. Might take a nose though when I have more time. Thing is, NPower should state this in their quotes etc, or their website should work properly!

I can't be the only one who has got caught out. From what I understand most new builds are supplied via an IGT because they are cheaper for the building company.

I have moved three times in the last five years. In the first property I used n-power they were good - no problems but when I moved to this property they were completely useless.
They "lost" my gas details three times (I was to be on dual fuel) and in the 8 months they never once took a direct debit off me even after I called them. They responded to one e-mail complaint - fobbed me off and completely ignored the second. I eventually gave up and signed up with E-on. A much better service.

We've just moved from NPower to Southern - no complaints in 3 years with them on a prepay meter. They're sending me a cheque too, as they owe me a few quid.

We're only with Southern as that came with this flat.
