I was surprised to get £250 CG card. That said, i do have an almost top notch experian credit file which they used to credit search. I don't even get a £100CG with HSBC!! (although that is because I have a managed loan).

oh yea I had one with HSBC years back. How long is left to pay on it?

I told you they would transfer across, didn't I. You should have Protective Registration it may stop it happening.

Have you ask Lloyds to remove it yet?

  • Hi there i'm new to this forum, i've just been reading this thread and it realy woried me! I've just been in to lloyds to open a Basic 'cash account' and when they credit checked me they offered me a classic account, even though I have a realy terrible credit record (3 ccj's and lots of delinquent credit accounts) I was shocked to be offered a Cheque book, £400 overdraft and £250 CG card. Am i right to worry? When I was in the branch the salesman had a notice flash up on the screen about my credit history and they just rang up head office and over-rode it (I think they thought I didn't notice) Account is now open, mobile phone insurance active and awaiting cards and pin.

Congratulations on getting such a great account.

I wouldn't be to concerned because it looks like it got referred and he was told to open the account by an underwriter I'm guessing.

What kind of conversation was held between the too?
  • It was a long reference number read out from the computer and the person at head office told the salesman whatever the info was, then the salesman just clicked a button to over-ride it. To be honest I was chuffed to bits as i'm finaly starting to get a grip on my finances. I always thought that once you had a CCJ you could forget about getting a normal account.

You're right they do, you must of been luck then. Well Done.

I have 2 defaults and I find it near impossible to get anything.

What credit file have you checked?

So he was advised to override it then?

So it wasn't a incredibly long telephone call then?
