Vodafone contract ending soon - what about Virgin customer deals?

As a Virgin Media customer ie broadband, phone and TV services, would it be better switching my mobile contract over to them as well? Do they have special deals for their existing customers or are they same as for new ones?
Anyone had any experience of this?

And just a quick aside, as I have a gorgeously lovely iPod touch, I only really want a new handset for calls and texts but mainly for a good camera - not really fussy as to which make.
Any suggestions what to ask for?

Many thanks

They do have special deals, although they aren't 'that' special.
They are basically discounted standard deals and offer roughly £3 a month discount.

The £8.50 contract is open to all and not just Virgin Media customers

    obviously

but is still a good deal. there is no point not looking at a good deal just because it is open to all customers. i dealt with 9 media customers today who opted for the £8.50 deal rather than the £12 media deal

Thats good. I only mentioned it as the OP specifically asked about deals for existing VM customers.

Have a look here for the tariifs currently available to Virgin Media customers:

    http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html/bundles/virginmobileoffer.html

Note also that these are not long term contracts. Basically it's a PAYG account paid by direct debit with a monthly bundle of minutes and texts added on. You will pay for any usage outside of the bundle (such as picture messages & data usage) but if you stay within the tariff amounts you pay no extra. Calls within the bundle are to landlines and all mobile numbers but exclude 08 numbers.

There is no phone in this deal, you just use the sim in an unlocked handset or buy a PAYG Virgin Mobile handset to suit your needs.

As there is no contract you will be on a rolling 30 bundle. You can cancel the bundle at any time and just revert to standard PAYG.
