london hostel near euston

can anyone recommend a cheap hostel for a single female in proximity of london euston or a cheap hotel for that matter .looking for overnight stay so i can get a visa and us embassy have given me an early time slot and unwilling to change.

Curiously I walk past this hostel (complete with rooms for lone females) very frequently but only really noticed it yesterday. It's not Euston, however being at Piccadilly (by Piccadilly Theatre where Grease is on) it is nearer to the embassy than Euston anyway. From here it is an easy walk to the US Embassy. I would just google yourself the journey from the hostel to the embassy on Google Maps, using the "by foot" option. Basically it's just a case of walking across Regent St and ducking and diving around the back streets a little. True to form, having lived in London for 20 years I can get just about anyway following my instincts but am rubbish at describing the route to anyone else unfamiliar with London!

Incidentally I visited the embassy for a work visa a few years ago and I ended up in a long queue on the pavement (or "sidewalk" as the man with the clipboard kept yelling) for a long time so I would advise taking a brolly and grabbing a coffee en route.

There are two Travelodges in the immediate vicinity of Kings Cross which is a very short walk away from Euston.

holiday inn regents park do good deals sometimes (gt portland st or bolsover street) ?? 15 mins walk from euston and to us embassy

Wardonia Hotel 250 yards from Kings cross have single en suite rooms for £45, it is clean but very small try booking.com for best deal.

I have stopped there a couple of times and if it is a clean safe very cheap priced room for the night I can recommend.:beer:

The travelodge at Euston is good - might find a sale room there?

Ive stayed in the LSE London school of economics student halls rooms - only available at Easter/Summer times - very clean, friendly and cosy and 5 mins from Euston. About £35 b&b.

It's on Euston Road, a few minutes walk from Euston Station (it's almost opposite St Pancras Station). However, it's closed for refurbishment at the moment. It reopens on 8 April.

There's also a Premier Inn just across the road from Euston station - go out onto Euston Road, cross over, turn left and look for the Costa Coffee.
