I'm pleased the rant about EDF is not as bad as the OP heading, I'm just about to join EDF.
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional

You don't say how many people live there or indeed more importantly usage. But based on the amount of money you paid its seems a bit low to me.

Also you give the impression its for gas but the dates of payment seem to be for more than one energy usage as the dates over lap

You pay more than a bit in Winter especially if have central heating and use it. Or if its all electric I know it isnt the case he even more

Apologies for the aggression except i have just got off the phone to EDF. My bill arrived about 10 minutes ago Gas bill that is. We are in a rental property and i am also just on Switch with which to get a better package.

    But previous bill's were

    £45.58 for 5/9/08 27/10/07
    £57.49 for 25/9/08 19/11/08

    today its come in at
£246.62 and what did they say?

Well usage will go up over the winter period. Really? I understand it would be on a bit more over winter but we are a 2 person 2 bed household both work mon-fri full time so the usage increase i can't see being 5x the normal.

    Rant over

Any advice and anyone have any input on switchwithwhich.co.uk??
