Was it milk.....or cous cous :rotfl:
:rotfl: No sadly it's not even something I can buy at a local shop (personal care items for an 8 year old with night time 'issues'). So it has to be the supermarket.

    I will not buy chocolate.

My friend has just phoned. She and her staff have just ben put on a 4 day week with a 20% pay cut but are expected to reach the same targets.
They are contracted to a full week and she does not have 20% disposable income. What!!!!!
She has been on the phone to ACAS all day but not answering - obviously swamped

With tax and everything, her pay loss will be smaller than 20% - depending on where in the tax bands she is.

It'll still be a hell of a slice off her wages though.

Bookie, it's really scary isn't it.

My XOH has just had his income reduced by about £70 a week. I'm going to have a look at his finances for him, but I'm pretty sure he will have to give me less maintenance, which will mean I'm going to have to redo my budgets too, and try and find a way to manage.

Hope your friend manages to get something sorted.

She's like me - sole income.
Can they do that with a contract?

Given 90 days notice they can change your job contract, but contracting you for 5 days and only paying 4 is very dubious. It may take her below the minimum wage - in which case, you can drop them in it.
