Hotmail Problems

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but every time I go into Hotmail it tries to download a new application, and no matter how many times I cancel, it keeps doing it again. This and all the ads has made Hotmail really slow and unusable. Is there any way to stop this, and are there any good efficient alternatives.
Been away for a while.

Use Firefox https://www.firefox.com and NoScript and AdblockPlus. I've never seen any adverts in at least 3 years. There are none.
And press printscreen (Print Scr) on your keyboard and upload the message so we can see it if you like.0
