Hi All

Has anyone else noticed there IP address keeps changing? I have it setup in my router as “Server assigned IP Address” (why do they keep swapping the ports) also I used to be able to download P2P but TalkTalk put a stop to that some 3-4 months ago, its Supposed to be unlimited NOT As soon as I am able I will be off to someone else, any advise would be appreciated.

Unless your on a premium rate deal, you wont get a static IP address. I would guess the one allocated by your ISP expires every couple of weeks or so, and you will automatically get assigned a new one if it has expired.....its called DHCP.

It shouldnt affect your normal surfing unless you have specific requirements e.g. a secure VPN.

They do it as they only have a limited number of them, and most ISPs have more ex-customers than customers, and it wouold tie up too many IP addresses.
