redbern - good to see it's better, but to finish off, I'd get and run Defraggler from filehippo, then do disk cleanup including old shadow copies/restore points..should also help somewhat.

Vista auto defrags which can cause problems. Goto COMPUTER, right click C drive
select PROPERTIES ~ TOOLS ~ DEFRAGMENT NOW
Untick 'run on a shedule' and tick ok
Just run DEFRAGGLER every 3 months or so

You seem to be backing up constantly? ~

ok - I've removed AVG so that's not running. How do I do a 'fresh' hijack as I corrected the earlier things you told me to remove? I think I'm reposting the original run? (sorry but it is running faster!)

delete the original text file. Rescan with hijack and post that

double click on the Hijack this icon on your desk top and then click on Do a System Scan. Copy and paste the resultant log into your reply here.

I've done everythink alienRIK said and installed Avira - I've double clicked on the icon and done a new scan but when I go to notebook it is the old one! help:o

Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
