Since the early 80s when a nuclear war looked a possibility, I have kept a large stock of tinned/dried etc food. I do realise now that it wouldn't have helped a lot if this country had been nuked! However, in the event of economic collapse it would be really useful. All I need now is a stash of gold coins and a shotgun with several hundred rounds of ammo!!

Still interested to hear from anyone who is doing similar, never mind the doubters!

If economic collapse does come, it will be made illegal to hoard.

At which point everyone will be so paranoid they will be pointing at everyone else, so your hoard will be discovered and taken away.

And, depending on the regime, you may be shot for violating such an important law.

Just wondering what anyone else is doing to prepare themselves for economic collapse in this country, if anything?
    Its already here.

The average person in the street can do very little about it.

we have a good stock of food, cooking equipment and all the necessities but collapse will not happen if people start spending again. We have bought a car and a roof rack this month. The doom and gloom generated by the media is getting to a lot of people and causing unnecessary feelings of personal depression. The bank clear up had to happen and it has happened very very rapidly, hopefully now we will go onwards on a better foundation for the future

How long do you expect this Economic Collapse to last ??

    A month, a year, a decade, a century ??

I'm going for a century or more myself (if it happens at all)

I've built a top secret nuclear bunker, but as I just told you that I'll have to kill you. :rotfl:

Oh and I'm getting used to rationed water supplies by only bathing when it rains and cleaning my crockery with urine (it is sterile you know)
All I seem to hear is blah blah blah!
