Problems returning Be boxes?

Be have been a total nightmare from the first day we signed up with them. After months of trying to contact their technical support and after hours of being sent round and round in circles we happily paid up the contract cancellation fee and moved over to virgin.
We have just received a letter from Be saying that we have not returned our Be Box and that we have 15 days to return it or they will charge us £50 for the box. We sent the box around 6 months ago so have no idea if we still have the postage receipt.
Has anyone else had problems returning their Be boxes and what do we do if the reciept cannot be found?

Exactly the same happened to me, fortunately I still had the p of p so e-mailed them a copy, which they accepted. They were going to charge me £100 for the box.

Yep, had the same problem. I just asked them to prove that they had not had it? Very difficult for them to do so they just went away in the end.0

That is very naughty. They insist on sending out the box regardless of if you need/want it, but they expect you to return it and try to do you out of £50-100 when you do. I hope I never have to send mine back. Sounds like a nightmare.0

Phew after a couple of hours of hunting we found the proof of postage and emailed a scanned copy to them. They have 'apologised' for the inconvenience.
Thanks for the replies we were curious if they were being 'credit crunched' and fishing for some extra money from ex customers as it is unlikely most people would keep the receipts for postage because surely if they had not contacted you many months ago you would have assumed it arrived safely! £50 may not seem much per ex customer but it would add up. But that's just me being cynical.
Just another important lesson in keep safe all the receipts and proofs of postage you have!0
