Hi, can anyone help please with a room booking either in Manchester or Liverpool for Friday 6th March - would like to get a reasonable deal and wondered if anyone had any recommendations.. Even a nice B&B would be fine by us - it's just to rest our heads for the night - any help appreciated

There are some suggestions for Liverpool here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=522347&highlight=formule+one and here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=453266&highlight=formule+one
As Liverpool aren't playing and Man U are away on the Saturday it shouldn't be too tough to find somewhere in either city.0

You thought about an apartment, depending on how many of you there are could work otu cheaper and both cities are full of them...
Failing that Manchester has a Travelodge, IBIS and Premier Inn amongst others that do good rates, the Days Hotel has offers on sometimes too2p off is still 2p off!0

Thank you for the information, I've looked at the Premier Inn, Innkeepers Lodge etc and they come up at approx £60 and the Brittania Adelphi is approx £48 (although it has mixed reviews - some people said it's abit shabby etc). At the Brittania do you have to pay for parking on top too?
I was looking to pay around £30/£40 but the hotels that come up at this price range have quite alot of bad reviews...
It's just two of us, need one double room. Travelling from Berkshire area and the room doesn't need to be central - it's just a stopover on the way to travel to see friends etc..
Stayed at the Marriott Worsley Park in Manchester previously and that was very nice..This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I think Monroes in Manchester is cheap but not sure about reviews
Days Inn is coming up at about £47 and the Chancellors Hotel (not central) is £49 but think it includes parking too
Have you tried Priceline? And Naming Your Own Price - risks atatched but I've picked up some real bargains in the past2p off is still 2p off!0

            Have you tried Laterooms?
(I think I might be turning into a parrot, thats the third time I've asked someone that question today :rotfl:)0

I have stayed at both of these and they are good for a cheap bed for the night
 Travelodge Didsbury £46.00
Travelodge Manchester Airport £42, but you will have to pay £5.00 for onsite parking0

The Britannia Adelphi charges about a tenner per 24 hour parking period, and they are currently lacking a general manager. We were there recently and it was beyond dreadful into Fawlty Towers territory.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

No matter how tempting the price, do not stay at the Liverpool Formule1. It is an appalling hellhole. It is run by drunken halfwits and frequented by the dregs of society. The rooms are vile, the doors have all had the locks smashed off, the noise never ceases from the rowdy drunks, and the showers and toilets look like they are used to keep farm animals in.
We used it once, arriving at midnight and leaving at 8am. It was cheap, but nowhere near cheap enough!:(0

We went to that area last weekend. We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Warrington. Right next to the M6 at the J21 It took us about 25 minutes into Manchester city centre by car on Saturday evening. It cost £39 room only. The offer was available through lastminute.com and also on their website.
It was perfectly clean and comfortable and excellent value for money.0

How about the Welcome Lodge between junction 28 and 27 of the M6? It's available on Laterooms for £39 for a family room and the site facilities are open 24/7.
Or you could try the Park Inn at Leigh also for £39 per night. It's a brand new hotel that only had it's opening night a few weeks ago and they are concentrating on getting people to visit it to get the name established. I've heard good reports so far... I'd say that's a great deal...

Failing that, you can get the Galleon Hotel and Leisure Club in Didsbury for £35, also on Laterooms.

Or the Trafford Hall hotel for £40 per night http://www.traffordhallhotel.co.uk/
If you really want to treat yourself, I would go for The Place apartments by Piccadilly Station in Manchester city centre for £50 per night. http://www.theplacehotel.com/
And lastly, the Holiday Inn Chester West is available for £39.
