Thanks for the above comments.
We were told by the staff at the shop that the phone was brand new and they used to dish them out as "contract" phones. They were then set up on the PAYG tariff and put in the shops. They used another word to describe this procedure but it was not "refurb." The phone was brand new in the box with all the necessary gubbins. Its even got the plastic film on the screen.
I think its a good deal for PAYG, hence I put it on the forum. Im not that into mobiles and dont want a contract deal or a handset that makes the breakfast, has HDTV installed or can take me the to an address in Chipping Sodbury.
