I don't know if this is your thing, but I loved the Goonhilly satellite station near Helston when I went there.

Also really liked the Seal Sanctuary near Gweek:

Falmouth is worth a visit, it's a nice town for shopping and the castle is cool. You can also take a boat trip from the pier.
You could drive up to Padstow - not a lot there, but the fish & chips from Rick Stein's takeaway are the best I've ever tasted!
You are also within reasonable distance of St Ives and Newquay. Newquay is best avoided in summer but has some fantastic beaches and walks. St Ives is very pretty (apologies if you know all this already). The Tate gallery is there and the famous Sloop Inn.
There are great coastal walks all around Cornwall.0 -

Near Penzance . If you love Stone circles etc you'll love this. Its English heritage and only a couple of pounds to get in. Whilst in the area, visit St Michaels Mount if you have never been. Its a great adventure getting across to it and well worth a look around.0
