This happens now and again, just press and hold the 'Alt' button then the 'F4' button.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. The one where you showed us Dithering Dad is a complete liar. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE Forum Team0

I've been trying to give thanks a lot lately -someone has to- but my screen is doing a weird thing of jumping to the top of the screen when I click on anybodies thanks.
Why does it do this and how can I stop it?
Its making me feel really queasy.
Does the same to me too LIR....has done for quite some while too.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

This happened to me last year. Being of good British stock, and from a hard-working family, I just kept a stiff upper lip and browsed-on, determined that this minor annoyance wouldn't change my behaviour on MSE.
About a month later, I'd stopped thanking most people; though if someone made me laugh, I'd forget , thank them, and then hate them for sending me into page re-load. Mewbie was the worst culprit, I think. I got to wishing for an 'unthanks' button.
Anyway, one day it just went back to normal. No magic bullet. Like house prices, I just assumed it was everyone else's fault, and it seems I was right.
Even now, odd things still happen on this site: yesterday the thanks buttons disappeared for a while, but they soon returned.
Basically, I'm saying it's like in the old sex education videos, where they used to reassure you that: 'It's all perfectly normal and you'll grow out of it,' without saying exactly what it was.
Oh, and you can all push my button, any time....0 -

If you have never used it make sure you click 'work in a bee', this will allow you to view prices that other people have seen first, oh, and prepare to be shocked.:D0 -

Mine does the same.Politics is not the art of the possible. It consists of choosing between the disastrous and the unpalatable. J. K. Galbraith0 -

Yes it's definitely your computer, likely caused by not doing regular housekeeping on your PC, e.g. cleaning out temp files, cache, etc.
This can easily be done by regularly running ccleaner here. Read the tutorial here so that you don't remove any items that you want to keep e.g. cookies for certain websites.
scousethife mentioned Alt + F4, however it's Ctrl + F5 that may solve your problem by forcing the webpage to be re-loaded without using any cached files stored on your machine. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Yes, I use Carp Cleaner and it's excellent, as is Superantispyware. They're free, or donation.
One word of warning though; C Cleaner will install the Yahoo toolbar, unless you tell it not to when you choose your options.0 -
Are you running NoScript and have it blocking MSE scripts (you naughty person...) - sure I had that when I gave it a try some time back.0
