I got an email yesterday to say 18185 couldn't collect any money .My CC had been changed .
I tried to change to DD but the system wouldn't let me .So I entered my new CC number and it worked . I changed 1899 to DD before they tried to get any money and they billed me straight away .0 -
Good point re cookies but when I had a look at the cookie cache, 1899 hadn't put any there. I'm very particular which cookies from which sites I accept so I don't think that that was the problem. I accept my cookies manually. History shouldn't affect the script for changing card details either as it's normally automatically refreshed when visiting anew but who knows what bugs exist in the 1899 script in the first place? When updating details on the 18866 site, it's never a problem...

Have you got firefox and internet explorer??? You may need to load up 1899 on a different web browser.. ie if you have been using internet explorer, try using firefox instead or visa versa. It mabe you need to use a different cc or debit card unfortunatly, then change back to the previous cc once they have taken their money.0 -
Firefox is my main browser and IE is my back-up on those rare occasions when Firefox trips up. It's still odd that the sister site, 18866, works a treat and 1899 simply gives errors left right and centre. I remember even when signing on 1899 for the first time it gave me problems. No, I'm absolutely convinced that their script just wants de-bugging.
But, will they ever get 'round to it?

well can't give any other answers if you've tried everything. Suppose it's down to 1899. I don't think you can compere sister sites, I believe they all run independantly of each other, each offering different tariffs.0

Hmmm, just a snippet of information that may be of help to anyone having troubles with 1899 payment changes and updates.
From previous postings on this thread, you will have gathered that I've had a lot of hassle re updating my new card details. During my many attempts at trying to change the card details, I thought to myself that it would be better if I actually changed to DD as I have a bit more control over what goes out and am able to cancel the DD at any time, from my end, if anything untoward should happen. Trying to change to DD always resulted in an 'error'.
Now that my card details have been updated successfully, I've just now found out that the 1899 site is enabling me to change my payment method to DD!
So, present payment methods must be ok and running smoothly before any changes can be made to the method.
Like I said, just a snippet of info that may be of use to someone out there...I'm NOT political so DON'T correct me!0
