Putting olive oil into my son's ears - advice?

I agree with sterling-geezer about method of application, I would use for at least 10-14days, teice a day, i probably woulnt not use cotton wool in the ears to keep oil in place as this can sometimes act as a wick and suck up the olive oil out of the ears. Try and avoid having his ears sryinged at all costs!!, the process of ear sryinging damages the natural process of the ear and he will likely need his ears sryinging in the future., not to mention the risk of ear infection and perofated ear drums
If the cotton wool has vaseline on, that should stop the cotton wool acting as a wick, shouldn't it? He doesn't want to sit there for 20 minutes with his head on one side or the other. I'm astonished at how cooperative he's being, want to keep it going!
;D (the youngest has just suggested hydrochloric acid as an alternative to olive oil. Brotherly love, who'd have it!) ;DSignature removed for peace of mind0 -
yes vaseline to make it waterproof.
Mum used to do mine and did once heat the oil up too much which caused me to jump up yelling.
Thank goodness for reflexes.
Ive had my ears syringed several times ,its a good thing to take someone with you when you get them done as sometimes it makes you dizzy .
Since living in a non smoking home I no longer need it done.0
