  • I do know how you feel...we had offer accepted on house 1, then after the vendors messed us around for 6 months we put an asking price offer on house 2. The next working day, vendors of house one (which overall we liked better) finally were in a position to proceed. I felt really bad because house 2 was owned by a really old man who was going into a home.

But in the end I felt that I had to do what was best for my family, and the best I could do for the vendor of house 2 was to pull out as quickly as possible so he could get on and remarket the property. (Incidentally, it sold pretty quickly).

All you can do is make your decision as quickly as possible so you are being as fair as you can to the vendors of house 1 if you decide to pull out.

we have thought about it all day, and talked about t all day too....... I took the advice offered here and made a list of pros and cons and really think house one although not as grand in the regal/prestigous sense is the best family option....... I think house 2 scores higher in some categories ie charachter/history/features but it dosent tick every box ie garden and house one ticks every single box..........In addition I honestly don't think I could live with myself if I had pulled out.....As someone earlier said I know how I'd feel if the roles were reversed......

Im happy to role the dice and see what fate brings.... For now its house 1 if that dosen't work out then Ill look at house 2 if still available.....

But genuinely thanks to all of you for the kind words of advice.... I really do feel happy with my choice now and either way I will still be a happy bunny....
    thanks
again, Ill let you know what happens.....Knowing housebuying it will probably be house 9....

Hmm Multipla or laguna?? I wen to view a mutipla 52 reg 7k i so wanted that car sooo much, I then decided after a long long weekend that as much as I loved that car it was a 6 seater and I really needed a 7 just in case. In the end I found a 7 seater laguna estate top of the range all history for 1200! I saved myself thousands and am far happier than with what could of been with the multipla even tho it was a fab looking car low mileage and great condition.

I think sometimes you need to find the one that really suits you and your family which is not alwyas the dream home house 1 in this case. There is a lot to be said for minimal up keep and a nice garden, when you have children too, stick with number 1.
