Harwich to Holland ferry crossing question

For those of you who have been on this crossing before - a quick question!
Our sailing is due to set off at 23.45, and I know that the latest we can board is an hour before that, but can anyone will me what is the earliest boarding time?
I ask because we are travelling with children, and it would be nice to get them settled and in bed before we sail.
thanks!

We arrived for the 2345 sailing from Harwich at 2145 and drove straight on to the ship. Our vehicle was near to the back of the ship so boarding must start early. On our return crossing we were on board and in our cabins 2 hrs before sailing too0

hi,
yes, this sailing usually boards really early.
I think its because its mainly freight, so they just load up the ordinary passengers quickly while theyre getting all the lorries on.
Cheers,
