  • sorry forgot to mention...and the more i thin about this piece of info is key in being able to get the items you have reserved at the lower price.

When speaking to Customer Services whilst in the Reading store, I said that I had a copy of the website with the price of 7.49 (cant find it now ;). They admitted there was a pricing error on the website last night. I stated that if that was the case then it was unfair that they were not honouring this price and im sure the trading standards and asa would like to hear about this.

To be honest i didnt have a leg to stand on but it was worth a shot....the CS person put me on hold and said theyd honour it and she spoke to the Customer Service store person who put it through.

I guess if you have a copy of the price on the website or receipt then that will make it easier.

    cool!

I just cancelled my order as I feel I have had a good deal up to now and not really justified in giving grief over it,

fair enough...i was actually only annoyed at being messed about...in fact the only reason i called customer services after the 1st visit was to check the price!....but was the wasted time and 2 wasted journeys that annoyed me ....would have been happy with 1 but they were very apologetic when they couldnt fullfil the order of 10...i would have been happy with 1 or 2 let alone 6....

  • R&R'd this at £7.49 at 11:05pm yesterday so a bit worried after this mornings' discussion.  No problem though at very busy Bracknell Argos store three minutes before 5:30pm closing tonight. I felt awful giving them my very long, intricate, complicated, and tedious reasons why I should get proper price. Especially with literally fifteen people behind me in queue looking crosser and crosser!

I made things worse by not being able to find my glasses. Duh! Never mind they helpfully read the reservation number themselves off the copy of their e-mail I gave them.

Anyway they were OK about the price in the end and I was so pleased that I decided to buy two lots instead of one, John in my office is now a happy guy too.

Seriously - Bracknell Argos staff are absolute stars and always a pleasure to shop with even on days when the run of bargain luck does happen to go against you.

I wasn't being judgemental there steve, just that I have done well out of them and they have done well by me so couldn't justify giving anyone a hard time. Circumstances are different for all, I find it best not to throw stones when your as short sighted as I am

I didn't go for this offer, but did get the Star Wars DVDs.
Am I the only one who can't believe how many "website errors" Argos seem to have on price?
Doesn't ANYONE at Argos have responsibility for checking that prices input to their computer system are actually the correct ones?? Given that this is losing them tens of thousands every time someone screws up, not to mention the bad customer service it causes surely someone should have sole responsibility for this.
OR - maybe they're deliberately producing price mistakes to drive up associated sales? I'm certain that other companies are doing this.

It has to be so, there is no other explanation. Looking at their visible error rates with the ones I already know from my own organisation there is just no comparison. Surely they just could not be that sloppy. Although it has to be said the number of product lines they carry is on the large side.

Why not though, doesn't really matter whether it really is mistakes or whether they have experimental retail scientists dropping errors in to see what happens to the sales graph. Either way it works - I would not have ever EVER been seen dead in an Argos a year ago and look at me now!
