Your menu is full of fat and stodge - anyone can eat for £12 per week on rubbish and junk.

You are not eating a healthy, balanced diet of good nutritious food at all.

It is a scam trying to pass off a fatty, heart-attack diet as being healthy.

It is misleading and detrimental to folks' health on here - how many dozens of folks have you taken in with your nonsense? You and Black Saturn.

I'm going to ask you again. Either make constructive posts or back off, please. With responses like that people won't bother trying to help others, which after all is what this site is about.

This board is for giving advice or asking for it, with a bit of a giggle along the way. If you don't want to contribute to that, then please don't.
It is not about what I eat, it is about these know-it-alls who post a 'healthy, balanced' diet which is anything but.

It is a heart-attack ridden menu of disaster.

everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Now I know for a fact that PP has to have a high calorie diet because she is ill. Thats nobodys business though apart from PP's. :)

People who choose to post their menu plans do so because it inspires other OSers.

If someone doesn't like the menu/meal then just don't use it.

Some of it inspires me, some of it doesn't. The meat stuff doesn't cos I am a veggie. But I would not slag off meat eaters. :)

I am quite a healthy eater but thats cos I need to loose wiight more than anything! Cute & Quirky can I please have some of your meal plans/recipes for some inspiration for me.

Wow Lynzpower you have inspired me to try even harder to increase our F&V intake. I think we do OK most days, but admit to having one or two occasionally that are severely lacking.

Those who can only criticise and not be constructive deserve to be ignored IMO.

It is a heart-attack ridden menu of disaster - sorry just can't see where PPs meals can be described as this!

A balanced diet has to include carbohydrates and some fats. I cannot honestly see anything unhealthy about PPs meals.

I find these threads very helpful. Thanks.

keep an eye out on the menu plan board where I list up the main meals of an evening that we would use.

im off to the market this afternoon, as we need so little this week we'll come in way under budget ( I estimate we need less than 10 quids worth) so I might spend a fiver or so on extra veg to make soups with - depends whats going on the market)

Wow, some really nasty posts on here - if I were new to these boards I think I'd be put off completely. I sometimes post up our meals for the week - but never think to include fruit/veg as that's something I'd eat regardless, so I usually only put the "main" part of the meal. I admire all who make a little go a long way and am always grateful for ideas. Please let's get back to the spirit of helpfulness and co-operation that usually rules on OS.

I really would struggle to live on as little as £12 per week. But for 2 adults and a hungry toddler we live very comfortably on under £40 per week and eat organic dairy, fruit and veg.

However, I have been known to 'go on strike' and we get take-away. That comes out of our 'social' budget though as we don't go out much because we have a new baby so that becomes 'treat night'.

I still have a lot to learn, but here's how I do it.

Can't see anything wrong with PPs meals.

Most of the meals meet the "pyramid" target, and surely it is better for the children to have a treat of chips at home, rather than buying them from a chip shop?? (It is also considered healthy for children to have a "little" junk food in their diet)

Food is to be enjoyed, not fought over as to what is right or not right.

If PP is happy with her menu then that's it, As she says her family are healthy and happy, and not hung up, and what business is it of ours anyway. PP is putting her menus up to share and help. Those who don't like them can choose something else. I haven't read anywhere that PP is saying we should do as she does. She's just sharing, like all of us who post our menus.

I enjoy reading what others are eating because I find it inspires me. It's not nice to read others contributions only to pick holes in them. Don't pull someone apart just because you prefer to eat differently. This is about sharing and encouraging, not tearing apart :-)

Do you think, for future reference ( just opening it up for discussion) we should try & cost up our menu plans, ( especialy for thise of us who have bveg boxes delivered- it would be good to see who pays what, and hear about the bargains?)

I have over time had people also presuime we eat really badly on the little we spend- I find it frustrating that people seem to think its "lies" when they could embrace some of the tricks of other OSers and save themselves more money :money:

I might do that next week in any case ( if I remember)

Good idea, Lynzpower. I think it would also be quite helpful that if people eat in a particular style for health reasons, or because they're losing weight, they mention it in their posts.
I, for instance, eat a very healthy and very well balanced diet because I'm a pensioner and need to keep my body in good running order with good fuel, and it costs far more than 11p per meal. That's not a problem because I'm not gagging for holidays abroad and the latest three piece suite or TV. Risks can sometimes be taken by younger people food-wise, and I did it on occasion myself, but it's not a sensible approach when one is older.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
