orange help with fixed dialing?

hi all... i have a nokia 3120 which unfortuantly does not have a security on keypad like the nokia 6230i.

I would like to lock it with a security word so noone can use my phone without my permission!

i have set a sim card pin number already but if my stole is stolen... theres no security cause if its on anyone can use it.

i have read on the nokia website that i can actually protect it with a security word.. but i think they made a mistake as that option is not there. or maybe the software was changed by the vendor who knows...

having read many times on fixed dialling, i now understand that network has to support fixed dialling and a pin2 is required for this.

if the fixed dialling list is empty... the phone will ask for pin2 and then you can enter the number to dial... this is the way i see to stop unauthorised calls.

does orange support fixed dialling? or is there another method for this phone?

i dont wanna buy another phone yet as i havent seen a simple phone as small as this one and dont wanna waste money unless i have to.

thanks in advance.

p.s my phone supports java, maybe some java software will lock my phone some how?

    what about call barring?
  • i think call barring and fixed dialling are both network service settings... ive tried, none seem to work.
call barring is just not listed under the security settings menu. weird. ive checked each menu one by one.

    menu 5 9 2 1
  • menu 5 is settings.
    menu 9 is security settings.
if i scroll through menu 5,9 security settings the following weird things..

    5,9,1 is pin code request.
5,9,2 is mising, it skips to 5,9,3
    5,9,3 is fixed dialling.

if i press quickly menu 5,9,2 it says shortcut not available.
    whats going on here?

I don't know - sometimes parts of the menu are skipped, and I don't know what affects that, whether some networks turn some parts off. One is on O2, but unlocked. The other was on Orange and has call barring but not the fixed dialling ...
