  • I bank with cahoot who are a seperate entity from Abbey and have a call centre located in Coventry. I have never had any problems with cahoot and I am quite surprised as I have also banked with Abbey and cahoot are miles ahead.. with customer service and satisfaction!

  • Don't look any further, FIRST DIRECT!

All my calls have been answered within three rings and by a person who has a personality!
  • Agree First Direct cannot be beaten always answered quick , my wife was a team leader there
  • Smile's customer services have usually always received favourable comments on this forum and quite rightly so. Based in Stockport I think. However, calls to them are not always answered as quickly as they might be. Not on the rare occasions I've 'phoned them anyway.
  • Alliance & Leicester are in the UK. But they have an 0870 number

First Direct really are good -I've been with them for over 10 years. Plus you can get £50 when you switch your account (see their homepage https://www.firstdirect.com). Quidco also do cashback, but not sure if you can combine them.

I believe Abbey are moving the call centres back to the UK.

Been a disaster moving them off-shore and loads of customers have left.

Smile is pretty good at answering calls quickly most of the time. Banked with them for 5 and a half years and never had any problems.
