    Oh I don't smoke nasty habit!! :kisses3:
Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
    And we were young.

    Hi

We're having a day trip from Dover to Calais next Wednesday (we live in south-east Essex). We took advantage of an offer from 'The Sun' (although we don't read the paper!) of £10 for a car by P&O Ferries. They were also offering a trip from Hull, but I think the offer will have finished now.

Apparently the ferry companies are plugging their on-board shops which they say compare favourably with the Calais supermarkets.

We spent a few days at the Holiday Inn, Coquelles near Calais, a year ago - that end of Calais is close to the Eurotunnel and close to the supermarkets. When we go over we tend to drive out of Calais, to a little place called Guines where there's a lovely little restaurant called the Auberge Trois Pays.

And no, we don't buy any cigarettes at all - we don't use them!

Hi wonderfullife, sorry for the delay, I reckon you should catch an early crossing at about 6.30 ish, you will arrive at 8am ish (french time). I love the place but you might not!!!

Hi Cheekymole, thanks for the reply

Wasn't really thinking of going that early, I am on holiday :) plus 2 kids to get ready.
I'm really after cigs, went to Cyprus last year, bought a load there, but almost running out now, so really need them, but I don't need any booze.
So just need a cheap place to buy them.

    Thanks

Just bob up to adinkerke then, you won't find them cheap in France. I think they are about £29-£30 for 200 in adinkerke which is a big saving on over here I believe. Just allow yourself a couple of hours then to get there and back

  • Thanks for that, will definitely go to Belgium then, although its a long time since I drove on the right hand side, so not really looking forward to that.

    Anyway thanks
