Cashback? Who mentioned cashback? (Only joking!)

We've insured our house and contents with Hiscox for the last 3 years, partly because we run a business from home and they provide cover on that basis. Their customer service has been excellent on both the occasions we've needed to phone them (once to make a claim). In terms of the claim, which was for glass when my then 2yr old son threw a pebble which hit and smashed a large picture window, they were absolutely excellent, can't fault them in any way.

Highly recommended company. They aren't the cheapest around, but in my view it is worth paying that bit extra for peace of mind.

We are pretty much ave peeps - house worth approx £200k and no expensive jewellery etc. And we insure through hiscox. The reason we went with them is that they actually gave a more realistic quote when it came to contents cover. ALso they covered us, even though we had had a very large claim (due to a very large leak caused by poor workmanship of contractor) where other providers said no.

Not had to make a claim yet but have had to juggle around with our policy whilst extension was being built, and like the others say their customer service is fantastic! Definitely worth paying that little bit extra for.

I think that if you are the type of person that wants accidental damage and personal possessions on their policy then Hiscox will not appear expensive. However, if you are looking to pay nothing to get little or nothing covered then they will appear expensive.
