Orange and PAC Code refused - o/s bal
I have been with Orange for longer than I can remember and have spent thousands of pounds over that time with them.
I have an outstanding bill of £83 (£35 from Jan and £48 from Feb).
They have disconnected me, including any incoming calls and refuse to take £35 now and balance next week.
In view of the lack of loyalty (as I perceive it) I thought I may as well move as I am out of contract. They refuse me my PAC code because of the outstanding balance.
Does anyone know if this is right because any chance of me staying with Orange is dissapearing by the second.
I cannot understand the mentality of an organisation that spends so much time getting in new custs and then letting them go for £83.

Being disconnected would be standard procedure, Loyalty has nothing to do with it and how much youve paid in the past makes no differance.0

sporedude is correct. SPs won't issue PACs where there is debt. didn't you have a DD set up to pay the bills?Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0

Organisations tend not to focus on the amount and more the fact you owe them money. Could be 83p and they would chase you as the books are not balanced.
You need to sort it out before it gets worse, you've got to get in touch and get it sorted before you make your credit rating worse. Even if you leave and go elsewhere, (assuming you haven't any other credit black marks on your account and can get a phone elsewhere), you will still owe them £83.0 -

but what do you expect them to do? forget about the £83 you owe them? They have disconnected me, including any incoming calls
This would be done at all networks, if you have been unable to pay two months then why would they allow you to build up costs for a 3rd month making your debt to them even higher?refuse to take £35 now and balance next week
different companies have different policies but they do have the right to expect payment in fullDoes anyone know if this is right because any chance of me staying with Orange is dissapearing by the second.
And where would you go, if this is your reason for leaving you need to be aware that all networks would expect you to pay your bills on timeThey refuse me my PAC code because of the outstanding balance.
networks do not have to provide a PAC if there is an outstanding debt, I think that any network that would give a PAC in these circumstances are being stupid as they are not looking after their own best interests or other networks. I know if I get a PAC from an ex orange customer that they have paid all their bills to Orange - this gives me confidence that they will pay their bills to my network0 -
... and, say you did get your PAC and go elsewhere, what leverage do they have to get you to pay the £83?Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0

They call them Bailiffs .....
Really retaining a phone number for most retail consumers is a nicety not a need. Business customers on the otherhand need to retain it for so they don't lose business.0
