If she is using the Uni internet connection then there isn't really much you can do to improve the quality, even tesco - tesco as her upload bandwidth will still be quite limited.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

Can anyone tell me, my daughter has been given a number for her tesco phone which has the same area code as home even though shes not in that area while in her uni student house. Does this mean I can ring the internet phone free as I'm on NTL with the same area code. Will NTL class it as a free number. I did dial the whole number with code even though I don't usually for local numbers just in case it mattered
    Thanx

If you get free calls to numbers with that area-code then that is what you will get free calls to numbers with that area-code.

If you only get free calls to other NTL customers within that area-code then as it's not an NTL number, then it won't be free.

I'm on the talk24 for a while as a free offer but when that runs out I'll be back on 123 so I guess that means it will be free for now but maybe I'd better check if talk24 is for uk landlines though. Does anyone know how much it actually costs when its not free?

What ever your usual costs for calling a landline, even though the number is terminated to a VoIP connection, it is classed as a regular landline when it comes to billing / calling the number.

I bought a brace of Tesco Internet 'Phones and I'm delighted with them. I've 'phoned home from my hotel every night this week with no problems. I used to 'phone home on my mobile and then get my wife to call me back, but it still cost money.
The hotel has an 0870 number so it's pointless my wife phoning me on the room phone using my home inclusive calls package
Now I can call free from my room via the internet. Next month we are off to the USA so we will be using the Tesco 'phones to keep in touch with the family whilst we are away.

Not altogether useless as this one allows you to leave voice messages that are free to listen to. Its a bit of a pain yes that the pc has to be on but it costs quite a lot to set up one that doesnt need the pc on and as I understand it you also have to have a landline to do that but I might be wrong

My daughter has had a lot of trouble with her tesco phone. It was ok at the start for her speaking to other tesco users but not very good on tesco to landlines but now its so bad she cant use it to speak to anyone at all.

She hasnt got her receipt so she doesnt gave any proof of purchase but she got it when the £15 offer was on about a month ago. Do you think they will let her swap it?
    Thanx
