I HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING WRONG. I ORDERED AN ITEM AND WAS KEPT WAITING A MONTH FREEMANS DID NOT LET ME KNOW THAT IT WAS LOST IN TRANSIT, NO LETTER OR COMMUNICATION I HAD TO CONTACT THEM TO SEE WERE IT WAS. I ORDERED IT WELL IN ADVANCE AS IT WAS A PRESENT FOR MY 3 YEAR OLD SO HE WOULD NOT FEEL LEFT OUT ON THE BIRTH OF OUR 2ND SON AT THE START OF MARCH. I WAS INCONVENIENCED BY FREEMANS AS THE ITEM DID NOT ARRIVE UNTIL AFTER THE BIRTH.

IT IS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE STATEMENTS ETC.. HAVE THE CORRECT ITEMS ON NOT MINE, AND I AM NOT ABOUT TO USE AN 0870 NUMBER.

I AM AN HONEST PERSON I WOULD NOT STEAL FROM A SHOP, BUT AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED FREEMANS HAVE GIVEN ME THE ITEM AS A GIFT FOR ALL THE MISSING ABOUT.

What usually happens is that the catalogue company will make a goods lost in transit claim against the courier. The courier will then contact you and ask you to complete a declaration form to state that you never received the goods. They have to do this so they can claim against their ins co.

I have just received a similar form from Parcel Force, as I never received a particular dvd from Blockbuster. They have to look into the matter and then they will try to make a claim for the loss. It will usually be the courier who takes responsibility for the loss, as the goods were last in their possession.

Not all couriers are as big as Parcel Force!!

Off topic, but please don't post in all capitals. It is likened to shouting and makes your posts difficult to read. :o

Thank you very much for your advice but it was not off topic as I put that I had simply not been contacted by anyone.

I was not shouting but actually breast feeding my 11 month old baby and had the caps lock on. While I feed him he actually kicks his feet about making it quite difficult to type anyway.

I am now unsubscribing to this thread as I have had quite a few nasty comments, and I am very upset as I am a nice person. So what ever you put from now on I will not be reading. Thank you and goodbye.
  • Blimey. I meant what I was about to put was off topic  No need to be on the defensive.
  • I think legally if you tell them and allow them "reasonable" access to be able to collected it, if they don't do so the item becomes yours after 6 months.

As for not telling them, I'm afraid I don't know where you'd stand.
