Eon incorrectly inputting meter readings

After a telephone conversation with Eon on Friday, it is possible that they have been inputting my meter readings on their system the wrong way around.
I have Economy 7 with Day Rate and a Night Rate. I have a sticker on the front of my meter with Rate 1 = Low - Night and Rate 2 = Normal - Day. We had been away on holiday for the last week and I am trying to see how much elec. we are using during the day now we are home. I took some readings and couldn't work out why my Normal day rate was a lot lower than my previous reading on my bill which was done by a meter reader, and my night rate had gone up massively. I gave Eon a ring, and was told yes Rate 1 is you Day rate and Rate 2 is your night rate. No i said and told them about the sticker which was put on when our meter was upgraded to a digital meter back in 2006. Oh he said thats strange however for some reason he said he had Rate 3 and Rate 4 on his system which was even stranger.
He suggested I wait until around 9 March as I will getting my meter read and to ring a few days later and see what readings they had on the system, as they may have been inputted the wrong way around.
My bills are always quite high, but now im worried, if they adjust this and put my readings around the right way will i get a massive bill and will they want the adjusted payment all in one go?

Make sure you check for yourself which reads are moving during the day as stickers are often wrong.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

good advice Joyful!
The best way to do this is by a small test.
Take a meter reading in the morning around 9am, then turn on appliances and boil the kettle, then take another set of readings around an hour later.
The rate that has moved is your day rate and the rate that is the same is the night rate.
Contact E.ON with your results and ensure your account is being billed correctly.
If you want me to take a look, once you have the results from your test, PM me with your house number and post code and I will be happy to do so for you.
Hope this helps.

I would like to say a massive thanks to you for all you help with my problem Helena, you were more helpful in that one phonecall then any of the other agents when I rang Eon with my worries. I now have my revised bill which is around £745!
