Ending Orange contract

Hi.....my 12 months Orange contract is due up on 20 Feb and I gave one months of cancellation. I've received a letter from Orange agreeing the disconnection date 20 Feb.

Today I received my monthly bill and they want the full months line rental from 12 Feb to 11 March. I phoned Orange CS and spoke to a lady who did not fill me with confidence that she knew what she was talking about:( Eventually, after being put on hold, she said that I pay in full and will get a bill next month showing the overpayment - this to be refunded.

This seems a long way for a shortcut! Is this really how Orange do this or was I told a load of baloney?

When i cancelled my orange contract this was how it worked and yes the have billed you in advance but you will have to wait till the next billing month for the credit to show and then a few weeks after that they will send you out a cheque which again takes time to clear but there quick taking your money.
The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

This is quite normal for mobile networks. They charge line rental in advance and they charge for calls in arrears, as you know.

Somehow they seem incapable of issuing a penultimate bill which only includes those days upto the final day of the contract. This could be due to the fact that you could revoke the cancellation at any point upto the final day. If you did that the contract would continue uninterrupted, as it were.

And if you use more than the pro-rata amount of minutes, the refund will be reduced, which they couldn't guess in advance
