Simple fact of economics. we dont want to pay the stupidly massive sols fees, so we award higher compensation.

Do you not pay predictive costs?

Thanks, for the replies, just hate the thought of all the Solicitors & Dr's making money out of my injuries, then again i need to see the Dr. Could have done without all the mither, guess that why we call them accidents. Now i have to find a decent Solicitor to line the pockets for.

Make the insurer an offer. On the 22nd day when they haven't responded due to their back log, issue. Gets you out of the predictive costs regime.

Your own insurer will make money out of your injury if they have offered to pass you on to a solicitor. They charge referral fees of up to 800 pounds.

Your solicitor will deserve to get paid for representing you and at least you will know you have been properly represented.

However, if you are fully recovered then you could try and settle it yourself.

Any ongoing symptoms then I would always recommend instructing a solicitor.

SolicitorMidlands, thanks for the advice, wow £800 just for a refferal. Will try and get in touch with a Solicitor in the morning, quick flick through the phone book should help, symptoms are still ongoing, accident only happened on Friday, not been able to see Dr. yet.
  • Call a decent firm and/or claims company and go on personal recommendation.

A claims company like NCD - I think they are now the biggest in the country.
  • A message for the grizz really but I recently had an accident and used www.easilyclaim.co.uk and now I have a very good solicitor working on my case. I no longer have any hassle or stress from the insurance company and it's one of those no win no fee things so i don't have to pay a penny! :j
  • The biggest and best PI firms are - Irwin Mitchell and Russell Jones and Walker. You could approach one of them direct.
