  • The dow has crashed below 7000 today loosing 300 points or 4%,my bet is that the ftse will go below 3000 and the dow below 6000 in the short term, anything below 2500 and 5000 will be a disaster.

The actual results are the disaster, the price is a tagline

Another 12-16 months of falls before the final bull capitulates, FTSE going all the way down to 1400 before there's a bottom. House prices to 2.7x average earnings. £5 for loaf. 3.5M on the dole.

Someone's Crystal Ball is working well today - and we didn't have to cross your palm with silver or anything ;):p

Is this bear / bull role reversal!!? Or is it simply "I must find something wrong here, lets spin!"

    Role reversal ?

I have been long FTSE puts for months cos unlike the amateur pontificators on here I actually have a 'real' interest in the markets.....
Anyway, FTSE ended at 3625. Expect another slump tommorow

What's your 'open interest' in the FTSE ??

Or are you just pontificating on matters you barely understand ??

    Pardon.

Oh I see, it's back to insults.

I predicted the FTSE would "bottom" at 2200. I got insults for that too, being told I didnt know what I was on about. Now when it keeps declining, I get told "you barely understand".

I find this all mildly amusing how I am wrong both ways by the optimists!

    Pardon

    Long a Put

Means I own the right to sell the FTSE
    it's back to insults

I have not insulted anyone. My assertion that you like to pontificate on the Equity Markets whilst barely understanding them has been proven by the fact that you appear not to understand what 'being long FTSE puts' means.
I predicted the FTSE would "bottom" at 2200

What have you done about this ?

I would not make predictions, but my feeling is that the bottom will be slightly higher than 2200, somewhere around 2500 which is why I have bought out of the money puts (which are just about in the money now :T )
I am wrong both ways by the optimists

Who are you labelling an optimist ?

As probably one of the most pessimistic people on this board I cannot imagine who you mean

    FTSE in freefall again.

Purch. I'm not pretending to be a mastermind. I am however, learning with interest.
