Whats the magical number where it all goes crazy?
I have seen 3600 banded around, and currently its down 4.2% today to 3668.
It's now lower than when Labour took power in 1997. Good job lads!
Could see a new closing low for the decade today

Yes, because when Labour came into power in 1997, their main pledge was to "keep the FTSE sky high"...0

it's getting more than a bashing - it's getting a good and proper tonking
New York opening will be the key this afternoon if it goes anywhere near 3600

I can't see why the FTSE is going low today. Who knows what sets the city boys and girls off on their sprees. Maybe it's because snow is predicted? Perhaps Warren Buffet sneezed?Stercus accidit0

Err............It might have something to do with HSBC ??'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -

Never said it was their main pledge. Never said it was a pledge.
It's just a factual bit of information.
However one of their pledges was responsible growth. Which has failed as were worse off now than 12 years previously.
Can I get you an "I love Gordon" Avatar?0 -

Worse off how? What's your criteria for measuring how well off we are and were?
And yeah, you can get me an "I love Gordon" avatar if you like. Can I get you an "I only see things in black and white" avatar?0 -

Whats my criteria? Erm, well were talking about the FTSE here?
So theres one piece of a whole set of criteria.
Maybe a new thread should be started? What pledges have actually been carried through? Rather than taking this one off on a tangent about superbrown?0
