As a tesco employee - I can confirm people forget notes all the time - although not the best place for note to come out the machine does say quite loudly where to look for notes.

My only grumble is that before 9am we try to have un-manned tills and encourage people to use the self service tills - unless wanting ciggys -

I don't like this - I think a person should be there from the store opening it's doors........ people are always commenting on how they don't like having to walk around the store to look for staff to come and help or go on tills.
Not really comping any more as too ill - but hoping to win £1000+ in 2017 in cash prizes - watch this space!

This was when the offer definately was on

Depends what you spent £50 on. Not all things count towards the value for the voucher eg Lottery.

I have to say, ive always checked always before i buy and after(even when paying with card as its a habbit to not leave money behind) I have found a total of £25 on 3 occasions so far, it would be £45 but on one i found the £20 and my gf immediately too it off me and shoved it into her bag. I said she could keep it if she paid (£18 odd) lol.

I do hate the design, why o why is it down there, I also hate Asda ones, they seem to be far more sensitive and if your item isnt on the platform in 2 seconds it shouts at you lol, i find tesco's far more usable. Interestingly, near me is the first ever tesco express with no manned counters (bar fags) and just lots of self http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1221940/Death-checkout-worker-Tesco-pioneers-self-service-store.html

My friend in Sainsbury's yesterday told the SA there was £5 left in the machine and the SA said keep it because people do it everyday and never come back to claim it!!
  • I was in a queue for one of these and the lady in front of me went away without her £5, even though the machine was beeping pretty loudly, I ran after her with it and she was really grateful, but did seem really flustered!

I feel like it's only a matter of time before I leave something in there, I try to always pay by card if I can!

On a slightly related note, it always surprises me that people can go to cash machines and forget to take their money! I mean, it's the whole point of going to the machine :rotfl:

The other week I was queuing behind someone, and after taking his card back he just walked off, the money slid out a couple of seconds later. I took it and shouted after him, and he just said "oh right" rather ungratefully and took it back. I should have just kept my mouth shut and pocketed it :p

I've never left money so far (fingers crossed), but a friend of mine once got accidentally pushed by the man behind him and snapped his card in half! I've been paranoid about doing that ever since then.
