To use the System Configuration Utility method- Close all open programs.
- Click Start, Run and type MSCONFIG in the box and click OK
- The System Configuration Utility appears, On the BOOT.INI tab, Check the "/SAFEBOOT" option, and then click OK and Restart your computer when prompted.
- The computer restarts in Safe mode.
- Perform the troubleshooting steps for which you are using Safe Mode.
When you are finished with troubleshooting in Safe mode, open MSCONFIG again, on the BOOT.INI tab, uncheck "/SAFEBOOT" and click OK to restart your computer

OK so I finally got it to run in safe mode - ha ra:T , however - it still crashed when I tried to run Superantispyware, albeit it got to about 15 mins this time!
Outlook is behaving a bit better but still hangs if I want to do a 'reply to'.
Should I pursue seeing if I have a 'nasty'?
It wouldn't let me run ESET's online scanner either by the way.

I have run Spybot; asssuming we are talking about Spybot S&D??
I have never seen TWO scanners? I usually click on the check for problems button?
Where is the 'other ' scanner please?
Yes I did try ESET in IE as it is the only browser I use, but thanks anyway.
Will run Spybot again but am wondering why what you say is not fitting with what I'm looking at. Have I got the right programme do you think?:o0 -

Well that's been running now since 1346 and to date it is showing an object called 'pskill.exe'.
When it finishes will it do its own thing and is this object something I should worry about:o ?0
